How It Works !

The order date is set and orders are invited from all syndicate members. |

On that date a number of suppliers are contacted and a price quote obtained for the bulk amount, say typically around 20,000 litres. |

When all quotes are received and the haggling stops the order will be placed with the cheapest supplier and a delivery date(s) agreed. |

The order will then be e-mailed to the supplier with everyone's order and delivery details. |

Most suppliers want payment before delivery, even if you do have credit history with them. They will generally contact you to arrange payment in advance by card. Where they take card details in advance, they used to only debit your account the day before the agreed delivery. Since GDPR in May 2018 they can no longer hold your card details so paymen is taken on that day. This is generally no different to what would happen if you ordered independently. |

The delivery takes place, hopefully on the agreed date and each household receives their own invoice which they are responsible for paying if they haven't pre-paid. |

The above is probably exactly the same as you would do if you placed the order yourself, just that you will receive a discount for being part of a bulk order. |
